Time-line: 

 

1992 – Recognized by the  Ministry of Health and Family Welfare  as a nodal agency and Mother NGO for providing financial and technical support to NGOs in rural and urban areas.1994 – Opens branches at Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab and Haryana

1995 – Launches VOLACT, Centre for Voluntary Action

1997 – Starts donating medical supplies under a US-India Bilateral Agreement

2004 – Selected by Family Health International as one of its main implementing partners under the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - Avahan program for reducing the risk of HIV/AIDS among sex workers and their clients in Mumbai and Thane

2007 – Acknowledged by peers as an effective project manager for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation HIV/AIDS project. SOSVA targets a number of initiatives in rural, health, feeding underprivileged children and Vocational training. Launches a rural initiative at Dhabon in Palghar Taluka of Maharashtra
